For the technical reader
How it is built
The stack, and exactly what we do so Google, voice assistants and AI chat tools can find you and describe you correctly.
The stack
- Astro
- Builds static HTML pages ahead of time. No database, no plugins to patch, nothing for hackers to log in to. If you need to edit pages yourself or sell online, we build WordPress and WooCommerce sites instead, quoted as Custom work.
- Tailwind CSS
- Styling compiled into one small file, so pages load fast on a phone on a weak signal.
- Static hosting
- Free static hosting (Cloudflare Pages or GitHub Pages) with HTTPS, or the host you already pay for. Your domain stays in your name.
- Git
- Every change is saved in a code history. A full copy of your files goes to you at hand-over, so any developer can pick the site up.
- Open-Meteo
- Free weather, sea and marine data (CC BY 4.0), fetched live in the visitor's browser, for weather and tides pages.
- Web app
- The guest app is a web app with a manifest and a service worker: it installs to the home screen and keeps the last good copy for when there is no signal. It only stores your own pages, never WhatsApp or analytics.
- Google Analytics 4
- Visitor numbers for your admin dashboard, disclosed on the privacy page.
SEO
Search engine optimisation: rank in Google and Bing.
- A unique title and description on every page, written around what your customers search for
- A canonical address on every page, so Google does not split your ranking between copies
- A share image and text (Open Graph), so a link in WhatsApp or Facebook shows a proper preview card
- sitemap.xml and robots.txt, generated on every build
- schema.org business data (JSON-LD): your business type, address, phone and reviews, readable by search engines
- Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools verified in your name, with the sitemap submitted
- Mobile-first pages, image sizes kept small, no heavy effects
AEO
Answer engine optimisation: be the answer Google and voice assistants read out.
- We collect the real questions your customers ask (by WhatsApp, phone, at the counter)
- Each one is answered in a short sentence in an FAQ, first answer first
- The FAQ carries FAQPage schema, so Google and voice assistants can quote the answer and name you
GEO
Generative engine optimisation: be described correctly by ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity.
- An llms.txt file at the root of your site with your key facts: what you do, address, prices, capacity, hours
- Factual pages with numbers, for example rates and minutes from the beach, not vague marketing copy
- The same facts on the site, in llms.txt and in your Google Business Profile if you have one, so ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity describe you correctly
The process
- 1
Consult
We look at your current site together and agree what is losing enquiries.
- 2
Questions and keywords
We list what your customers search for and ask, before writing a word.
- 3
Build
Pages, schema, sitemap, llms.txt and FAQ go in with the first build, not later.
- 4
Submit
Sitemap submitted to Google and Bing in your name; pages requested for indexing.
- 5
Check
We run an automatic check on every site we look after: titles, sitemap, llms.txt, schema and the analytics tag. The admin dashboard, where you have it, shows the Google searches that find you.
